The Hilltop Urban Youth Ministry exists to:
- Reflect Jesus Christ, His love, His ways, His attitude
- Adopt an alternative life, a “What would Jesus do?” life.
- Produce Disciples, committed followers of Jesus that can teach others to follow Jesus
We will see these things grow in our lives, as we fellowship (spend time) with other believers and study and apply the Word of God to our lives.
Philippians 3:8 What is more, I consider everything a loss
compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ
Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider
them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
How?
We challenge urban teens with the radical reality that Almighty God loves them. We present the Word of God as we work incredibly hard to build lasting relationships. Trust is difficult to earn, and takes time, but God is able to break down walls and soften hearts so that the youth hear the gospel. Every inch is a battle, we plant more than we harvest, and celebrate the baby steps of faith.
Any teen is welcome at our Wednesday evening youth group
Our goal on Wednesday, is to build relationships, and send the teens home having heard that God loves them and we love them.
We plan activities and events that prompt the youth to a decision point. We challenge the youth to take the step of faith and trust Jesus or to go deeper in their walk with God.
These activities and events include: Kamp at KAA, retreats, BBQ’s, picnics, concerts, pancake breakfasts, campfires, and more
We are looking for a decision for Christ, and to move the teen into a weekly bible study.
Bible Study is where the growth is. Bible study groups have special opportunities to grow and learn to serve.
We work to teach a Christian World View
We expect that they begin to assimilate into the local church beyond just the youth ministry
We expect a developing heart of service
Special events and incentives are offered to help disciple the youth, these include: conferences, a leadership development program, service projects, mission trips, camping in Colorado, and more.
Needs
We are always looking for committed volunteers.
We need tutors, youth group leaders, bible study leaders,
Activity coordinators, and chaperones.
